Tailboard Charters provides the fishing equipment needed for your trip, so your group can focus on enjoying the day and catching fish.
Important Note:
Fishing licenses are not included. Passengers 16 years old and older are required to have a Wisconsin fishing license with the Great Lakes Trout and Salmon stamp.

You do not need to bring fishing gear. Tailboard Charters provides the fishing equipment and includes fish cleaning and bagging. Customers should bring personal items that help make the trip comfortable.
Important Note:
Soft-soled shoes are required for your safety.
What You Can Catch + Seasons
Spring (April, May, and June)
Spring fishing primarily focuses on Coho Salmon, with Lake Trout, Rainbow Trout, and occasional King Salmon also possible.
Summer (July and August)
During summer, the fishing transitions from Coho Salmon toward Lake Trout and King Salmon. King Salmon usually arrive in mid-July and continue through September, bringing the chance for larger fish and occasional trophy Kings in the upper 20-pound range.
Fall (September and October)
In early September, Tailboard Charters focuses on returning mature King Salmon as they move into the area to spawn. Lake Trout and Rainbow Trout are also commonly caught during this time.
Fishing on Lake Michigan changes throughout the season, and each part of the year brings different opportunities for salmon and trout.

Trips are priced for the boat and can include up to 6 passengers.

Important Policies
Please review the following trip policies before booking. These guidelines help keep each charter safe, organized, and enjoyable for everyone aboard.
Deposit Policy:
A $200 deposit is required per trip.
Cancellation Policy:
Deposits are fully refundable with a 10-day cancellation notice.
Weather Policy:
The captain will determine whether weather conditions are safe to fish. If the captain cancels the trip due to weather or unsafe conditions, you will receive a full refund.
Late Arrival Policy:
Tailboard Charters runs on a tight schedule. Your trip time begins at the scheduled start time. If your group arrives late, there is no price adjustment.
Children / Age Policy:
Parents can determine whether their children will be a good fit for the conditions of the charter.
Early Return Policy:
If your group needs to come in early, there will not be a reduction in the price of the trip.
Safety Policy:
The Tailboard complies with all state and federal laws, no exceptions. Safety is always the first concern.
Conduct Policy:
If customers become intoxicated or unruly, the captain may cancel the trip without a refund.
