When to fish

When should I go fishing? This is our most common question that I can give some guidance with. While every day can vary we do have common trends to help you pick the right time of year.

May
Starts our Coho salmon run. These fish will run from three to five pounds but the action can be fantastic with limit catches not abnormal. We also will mix in catches of Kings and Rainbows through out the month to add to the size and excitement!

June
The Cohos will continue through most of this month but there size will increase to an average size of five pound. We still expect strong numbers of fish, but as the size of the fish get bigger it is normal for our catch count to come down a bit. Late June can slow down some at times as the water warms up.

July
This is when we start to look for the bigger 4 year old Kings that will stage in deeper water outside of Kenosha getting ready to spawn in the fall. We will also catch Coho, Rainbow, Lake and Brown Trout through out the summer.

August
Is our busiest month of the year because the big kings are usually here in full force and they can get in the 20lb range and still catch all the other sport fish at the same time. Warm weather and good fishing.

September
The spawning Kings will move into shallow water in front of Kenosha, which makes for great fishing, but we still have the option for deep water fishing that can be even better.

October
By now most of the big kings have gone up stream but with Rainbows, Browns and two and three year old Kings are still in the area and the fishing can still be very good.
